Itinerary details

Day 1: Arrival & Kigali City Tour (30km)

• Arrival in Kigali, airport transfer, and hotel check-in.
• Afternoon: Guided cycling tour of Kigali city, including historicalsites, cultural landmarks, and
scenic viewpoints.
• Welcome dinner and briefing on the upcoming cycling adventure.

Day 2: Kigali to Muhanga (49km)

• Scenic ride through rolling hills and countryside, passing by traditional villages and local
markets.
• Visit the Mashyiga and Mpushi rocks, holding religious significance in Rwandan culture.
• Overnight stay at Idembe Heritage.

Day 3: Muhanga to Nyanza (43km)

• Ride through eucalyptus forests, banana plantations, and rice paddies, enjoying picturesque
countryside views.
• Visit the Nyanza King’s Palace, a historical landmark showcasing Rwanda’s past monarchy.
• Overnight stay Nyanza Heritage Hotel.

Day 4: Nyanza to Huye (Butare) (39km)

• Morning: Visit the Ethnographic Museum in Butare, showcasing Rwanda’s diverse cultural
heritage and artifacts.
• Late Afternoon: Discovering Arboretum Forest, one of the oldest and biggest artificial forest
of the country
• Overnight stay at Lighthouse Hotel Huye.

Day 5: Huye to Kitabi (56km)

• Descend towards Nyungwe National Park
• Chimpanzee Trekking in the park and canopy walk
• Overnight stay at Kitabi Eco-Lodge

Day 6: Drive to Kibuye

• Drive to Kibuye
• Afternoon: Go for a boat tour and relax at Napoleon and Amahoro islands.
• Overnight in Kibuye on the shores of Lake Kivu.

Day 7: Biking to Kinunu (59km)

• Biking from Kibuye to Kinunu village, along the Congo-Nile trail. On the way stop over for
beautiful sceneries
• Afternoon: Mountain Coffee tour experience
• Overnight in Kinunu Guest House

Day 8: Kinunu to Gisenyi (49km)

• Bike from Kinunu to Gisenyi along lake Kivu cycling in a fishing village, interact with people,
and meet the fishermen learning a lot from Rwandan culture.
• Home experience at Rubona Fishing village
• Overnight at Inzu Lodge.

Day 9: Sightseeing and Drive to Kigali

• Morning: Gisenyi sightseeing including the Gisenyi natural hot springs, Rubavu beach and
the dancing pots experience
• Drive back to Kigali through the volcanic region
• Evening farewell dinner
